Based in Birmingham, UK, Andy Jenkins has a lifelong passion for music. He was however a relative a latecomer to the singer / songwriting role. Over the past 15 years he has steadily built an impressive stock of indie / acoustic songs with a wide range of influences from pop to folk, blues and jazz.
The influence of Andy’s first musical love, The Beatles, can still be discerned but audiences have also cited Crowded House, James Taylor, Beck, Eels and others. Lyrical preoccupations include the personal and the political, ranging through love songs to subtle commentary on urban / rural environments and considerations of our mortality.
Andy regularly plays gigs and open mics around the West Midlands area. He is also a member of the West Midlands based Sitting Room band.
Working with local producer Michael Clarke, Andy has made the following releases;
Heartland – May 2015
Futureproof – April 2018
Thicker Skin (single) – May 2018
Mood Swings – February 2022.
A 4th album, Takeaway World, with Michael is being released now in June 24. The albums are available on the usual on line platforms and in CD format.
